Accessibility Statement

We build for everyone. Here is our conformance target, how we verify it, and what to do if something blocks you.

Last assessed: August 17, 2026

1. Our Commitment

Forge The Stack is committed to making forgethestack.com and the websites we build for clients usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, magnification, or reduced-motion settings.

Conformance target: Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA.

We describe this as a target rather than a certification. No automated tool proves full conformance, and we would rather tell you what we actually verify than claim more than we can evidence.

2. How We Test

Accessibility checks run automatically, not just when someone remembers to look:

  • Automated: axe-core runs against core pages at mobile and desktop viewports on a schedule and after every deployment. Critical and serious violations fail the build.
  • Performance and structure: Lighthouse enforces an accessibility score threshold alongside Core Web Vitals budgets.
  • Design-time rules: our internal design system encodes contrast, focus, target size, semantics, and reduced-motion requirements as enforced rules rather than guidance.
  • Manual: keyboard traversal and focus-order review on key journeys — navigation, contact, sign-in, and booking.

Automated tooling reliably catches only a portion of real accessibility barriers. Manual review and user reports remain essential, which is why the contact route below matters.

3. Measures We Have Taken

  • Semantic HTML landmarks with a skip-to-content link as the first focusable element
  • Visible focus indicators on all interactive controls
  • Text alternatives for meaningful images; decorative images hidden from assistive tech
  • Persistent, programmatically associated form labels — placeholders are never the only label
  • Respect for the operating system prefers-reduced-motion setting
  • Content that reflows to a single column without horizontal scrolling on small screens
  • Color never used as the sole means of conveying information

4. Known Limitations

We would rather publish these than pretend they do not exist:

  • Third-party embeds. Maps, video players, payment interfaces, and scheduling widgets are supplied by external providers. We select accessible options where available, but we do not control their internals.
  • Client-supplied content. Documents, images, and copy provided by clients may not always include complete text alternatives at the moment of publication.
  • Screen-reader coverage. Our manual testing does not yet cover every combination of screen reader and browser.
  • Older archived content. Material published before our automated gates were introduced is being reviewed and remediated progressively.

5. Report a Barrier

If any part of this site or a site we built prevents you from completing a task, tell us and we will fix it.

  • Email: ariel@forgethestack.com
  • Contact form: forgethestack.com/contact

Please include the page address, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology and browser you were using. That detail lets us reproduce the problem quickly.

Our response commitment: we acknowledge accessibility reports within one business day and provide a remediation plan or fix within ten business days. Where a fix depends on a third-party provider, we will tell you that and offer an alternative way to complete your task.

6. Assessment Approach

This statement reflects self-assessment supported by automated tooling and manual review. It has not been evaluated by an independent third-party auditor. If you require independent verification for a procurement or compliance process, contact us and we will scope one.

This statement is reviewed whenever our testing approach changes, and at least annually.
